Separate the facts from your feelings.

First of all, your feelings are valid. You were hurt. Someone wronged you. It’s already to be mad about that. If you aren’t mad about that, how do you do it? Feelings like anger need to be expressed and felt. Not kept down and denied. Nothing good comes from keeping your feelings bottled up. They will consume you from the inside to the outside.

Back to the main point.

Feeling: It can feel like time crawls by. Goes by so painfully slow, you wonder if it goes by any slower, it will go backwards?

Fact: Time goes by at the same rate. Always.

Sure it can feel seconds crawl by. It also feels like months and years fly by in minutes. Especially when things aren’t going well. Time can feel like it’s crawling by at a snail’s pace. When things are going well, blink twice and your vacation’s over.

For a personal example, (Hint as to why women and numbers don’t mix.) I graduated high school more than a few years ago. It feels like that was last week. The years in since were in between great and not so much.

For the really embarrassing stuff, I had thought my mistakes or a change in routine would send the Earth spinning off it’s axis. Fact: Guess what? It didn’t. I was wrong. Delightfully wrong.

And to be honest, in the long run it didn’t matter.
